LAS VEGAS, NV: In what is beginning to look like a trend, another Las Vegas poker room has reduced operating hours. The poker room at Treasure Island will now close: “At midnight, if there are no tables in play.” The room will reopen the following morning at 10:30 AM. As of last weekend the room stayed open well past midnight on both Friday and Saturday night as there were tables in play. During the week, however, it appears the room is going dark nearly every night between midnight and 1 AM as the games lose players.
Once again, the reason for this move is the lack of low limit poker players. Gaming revenues up and down the famed Las Vegas strip are down and the smaller poker rooms are feeling the pinch and reducing hours when the rooms likely to be vacant.
